DRAGONFLY PAINT

PROPERTIES SHEET

DRAGONFLY PAINT IS NOT ONLY THE WORLD'S STRONGEST PAINT IT IS ALSO:

-a water base medium with zero petroleum unlike most latex water emulsion polymer paints, oil and epoxy base coatings in the market.

-a non-toxic and environmentally friendly; (however even though it is safe, precautions are always recommended, plus in fact the cross linker is harmful, and must be handled carefully and properly ) otherwise it is odorless and excessive contact with human skin safer
than most floor paints in the market.

-Dragonfly paint combined with Dragonfly resin is a weather insulator; meaning, if a bare cement surface is painted and finished with a centimeter thick topcoat it will minimise cold temperature otherwise common with bare cement floors in cold climates.

-it is non-flammable.

-it can withstand the heat of light bulbs under 100 watts and therefore it can tint the light of your room depending on which colour you choose to coat your bulb.

-it is scratch resistant on glass and unlike most “glass-paint” it does not need to be cooked or cured.

-it dries in 20 minutes READY TO WALK ON. 5 under the sun.

-it bonds to metal .

-it is the only paint that can withstand the effects of water corrosion, chlorine and
due to its non-toxic properties we can now explore the untapped canvas of pool and fountain
bottoms. Regular paint, such as latex water-base paint, contains harsh chemicals that would release over time reacting with the chlorine in the water and eventually contaminate the water supply with toxins.

Dragonflypaint combined with Dragonfly Resin on fresh cement plastered pool surface, can decorate entire pools into beautiful underwater murals.

-Dragonflypaint applied on old cement floors which have been properly etched and decontaminated is guaranteed for minimum 5 yrs.

-Dragonflypaint applied on freshly poured cement, referred as "green cement is guaranteed a minimum of 10 years. We can guarantee the floor mural for longer and to life perpetuity depending on how thick the client applies their topcoat resin and additional investment in an inspection maintenance prrogram. Dragonflypaint can last forever!

-Dragonflypaint has been developed and tested by Math Art.

-Dragonflypaint is truly the world's safest strong paint.

A. – CEMENT/ CONCRETE (A-E)

1. PREPARING THE PASSAGE FOR TRAFFIC

If there is going to be business conducted on or around the floor during the painting of the floor, simple use of ribbons, designated demarcation lines and signs are used to reroute foot-traffic flow to attain key access points for business to continue smoothly .

Except for very public work-locations where a large number of people will witness the Dragonfly techniques, clients are asked to remain off the work-site until said-work is completed. Client must make a request through the Agent of any visits to the work site. (MORE in section 12. CREATIVE PARAMETERS OF THE ARTIST.

FLOOR-PLAN: FLOOR-SCHEDULE

A detailed floor-plan can be submitted to the client of a business space or of a private residence being painted. A "section by section" of the floor's phases within the calendar of the project's time-line can be distributed amongst staff or families so as to assist the passage-flow of those involved during the course of a particular floor-schedule.

Preferably the entire space should be off-limits to regular construction traffic, business activities and voyeurs and allow the Artist the privacy to execute pattern.

2.PREPARING THE SURFACE:

2.1-OLD SURFACE
2.2-FRESH CEMENT

2.1. Old surfaces must be sanded down with the "Blastrax", system , or one of equivalent quality. The sanding system, scuffs out approximately 6 millimeters (0.6cm) of the old surface, including a top-coat of bacteria, residue, dirt, stained pores, old paint, and any oil or chemical stains. The surface is then decontaminated with "DFP" Decontaminant. Once decontaminant is dry it is suggested that it is immediately primed as white as an empty canvas.

2.2. The ideal condition is "GREEN CEMENT". In other words, cement as it is drying. Seven days after fresh cement is poured and leveled flat as the deeper sub-layers are moist and drying, Math base coats and begins the process of painting. It is suggested to paint within the first month of cement being poured as the paint will be absorbed and stain the rock deeper.

Whereas most latex and oil paints dry on the surface of cement through "liquid- evaporation", DFP penetrates fresh surface by drying through absorption rather than evaporation.

3. TAPING & STAIN-PROOFING

Key Areas not involved in floor project, adjacent to and which touch and join the floor's perimeters are taped and covered with plastic sheeting, vertically. This can include the length of designated passages for traffic, so passers-by are not sprayed by process.

4. PRIMING

Once the section has been scarified clean and dust free it is time to apply the first coat: "Dragonfly paint" white cement-primer . This can be used sparingly as it is primarily so further layers can adhere better to the concrete or cement through the formula of the first coat . Depending on weather and humidity this can take anywhere from 3-6 hours.

5. BEGINNING THE PAINTING

After processes 1-4 have begun, the first coats of colors will be splashed on . Large buckets, paint cans, brushes, paint uniform, and quick-access to water facilities all play important parts in the special techniques to complete such large surface canvases such as floors extremely fast never witnessed before on such a massive scale.

NOCTURNAL PAINTING

Painting during non-business hours can help the artist concentrate on a different creative plain the day-painting, preferably, artist should have access to work-site 24 hours, seven days a week during floor time-line.

6. STORAGE FACILITIES FOR MATERIALS

Preparation before a day of painting can be very arduous if materials are constantly moved from the work-site. Materials should be left as close as possible to the work-site.

7. WEATHER FOR EXTERIOR FLOORS, DECKS & POOLS

In the event of rain during the painting of an exterior surface, DFP dries in 20 minutes. Therefore all prior sub-layers of paint have already adhered through the surface. The rain will keep fresh paint wet longer and therefore actually play into the painting of the surface creating light glazing techniques and light puddle effects. A lot can be done during a light rain. These are opportunities for water-colour techniques on a massive scale creating unbelievable textures. However for epoxy sealant, it must be applied as the last coat on a clear and warm day preferably 21
Celsius or 70 Fahrenheit .

8. USE OF HOSE

Seeing that Math is using water-base paint it is better that he have access to a nearby hose, if circumstances permit, otherwise, the use of 5 gal. buckets of water. Hose should have enough slack to reach all areas of floor. With special nozzles Math can use a water-spray technique to soften brush-strokes. However it is not necessary.

9. RESIN AND EPOXY
TOP-COAT FOR A WET-LOOK REFLECTION:

-DFP industrial environmentally friendly epoxy.

It is recommended to extend your warranty on DFP by sealing the top surface with a
1 cm. thick, glass-like resin.

It is a NON-SLIP, thick epoxy-coating which gives the floor a surface gleam of water; the wetness of water. DFP resin as it is applied can be sculpted like ripples of a current, water or soft-wave pattern on the floor surface. Therefore any water pattern is enhanced with a transparent top-coat additionally sculpted to that of the geometry of water. The warranty of a floor depending on commercial or private residence has now extended from 10-25 years to 50 to 100 years.

Even though DFP will adhere to a properly scarified cement surface for 10-25 years depending whether it was old cement or fresh cement there still remains the pores of the rough cement surface which the paint was applied to. Dirt and grime can collect in the pores of the cement and add to your mopping time. A "Trompe L'oeuille" of walking on water must have the shiny softness of wetness otherwise it would be a "water-pattern" painted on "cement" as the light casts on across the cement's pores.
With Dragonfly resin not only does it gleam like the sheen of wet water but the floor now also has the additional quality of reflecting the entire room. The floor now transforms itself into a floating between the depth beneath you and the space around you.

NON-SLIP EPOXY TOP CLEAR-COAT
Due to the resin's non-slip quality it is also great for exteriors. It is water, alcohol and heat resistant. As a final layer we recommend several types of floor wax even a polyurethane clear gloss as an added seal over the epoxy.

For additional assurances to the non-slip nature transparent "Zinc-flakes" can be scattered over the surface of the epoxy as it dries and function as an aggregate for better grip on stairs and around pools.

10. SECURITY & MATERIALS DEPOSIT

All floor contracts require 40% down deposit of total floor contract, in order to advance purchase paint, surface-prep, transport, lodging, epoxies and materials.

11. MAINTAINING AND PROTECTING YOUR FLOOR

Like any beautiful floor, you want to minimize scratching: such as varnished hardwood, ceramic, marble, carpet—in short, this is a painting.
These are paintings increasing in value over time. Here are some tips to preserve your floor's shine and the visibility of the fresco:

1- Varnish 1-2 coats of polyurethane varnish over epoxy-top-coat: and or industrial high-traffic floor wax, as recommended on the bottle.

2- For exterior frescos without epoxy place a tarp for the colder seasons.

3-Rubber stoppers, under all furniture legs, that could otherwise scratch through the shiny surface. Ensure that anyone moving heavy objects across the parameters of the floor, such as: stove, fridge, metal desk etc. lift and carry objects to their new location on the floor.

4-Reseal additional coat of epoxy resin every 2-4 years to maintain the quality shine. Any scratches incurred are automatically filled in by new layer of resin.

5- Math design provides restoration and reparation of spots that are damaged by heavy objects or lack of maintenance over many years. Depending on your surface, how much you invest initially in materials determines your floor's warranty and maintenance schedule.

12. CREATIVE PARAMTERS

At no point during the execution of a floor pattern can the client intrude on the Artist in progress. Client must submit a request to visit the work-site through the agent.
Depending on request and circumstances Artist may allow public and client to witness live execution of Dragonfly techniques. These are conditions brokered where the "performance-element" of painting mass surface at high speed is prominently used for promotional purposes that are deemed beneficial to DFP.

B- GYPCRETE/ WET PLASTER

Processes 1- 11 .
Gypcrete or Wet-plaster fresco must be covered with DFP resin.

C- PLYWOOD PANEL: INTERLOCKING & SEAMLESS

Processes 1-11 can be applied, with the exception of Process 2 "Preparing the Surface" The advantage of wood panels over a cement floor plays in the event of moving business locations or residence. The floor can be dismantled and reassembled or added onto, at your new location.

2. PREPARING THE SURFACE FOR WOOD

Surface-prep of wood involves filling in all the cracks between eac interconnected panel and all open knot-holes. A plastic wood material is used to fill in all surface blemishes and then followed by a fresh sanding of the entire surface.

D. FIBER-CEMENT SHEETING

These are 4ft. X 4ft. 1 cm thick cement panels thaqt can be shipped and reassembled on a floor. The floor does not necessarily have to be painted in the actual space. It can be painted even while the room is being built somewhere else.

E. GLASS FLOORS, ACRYLIC PANELS, LAMP FLOORS,

As explained in the DFP properties sheet, DFP can stick to glass without needing to be cooked. Equally it can bond to acrylic lighting materials. Therfore we can paint entire glass or transparent sheets and back-light the painting. Thus the pattern can be lit underneath transforming the floor into a massive flat-lamp of color and design.

DFP resin is necessary for extended guarantee .

F. CANVAS, FABRIC, ROLLED UP FLOORS FOR TRANSPORT

As stated in the DFP properties sheet, DFP has an exceptional elasticity factor which allows it to stretch even on an elastic! Without chipping off! Therefore DFP can be painted on not just the conventional artist-canvas but any fabric! i.e. satin, nylon, spandex—therefore a floor can be painted on a cloth, rolled up, transported across the world by the painter himself, walk in to the client's home, roll it out in the room, tack it down stretching out the corners of the painting over the entire parameters of the room and then top it all off with DFP resin over top, thus sealing the cloth in place, forever.
